Immersive Snare Rooms

The TuneDyne Classic Snare Collection – Immersive Rooms lets you trigger multiple phase-aligned room perspectives from a single snare performance. It works in Dolby Atmos and is also fully compatible with stereo setups — essentially giving you multiple room mics for extra depth and flexibility

The Immersive Room samples are recorded with a real immersive microphone array and are perfectly suited for mixing in Dolby Atmos (7.1.4). They can also be used in stereo, giving you additional room perspectives.

How to use

This setup assumes you are working in a Dolby Atmos–enabled session. The routing concept described below is not DAW-specific and can be used in any DAW that supports Dolby Atmos routing.

  • Create a send from your snare  track and route it to a bus.
  • Create five stereo AUX tracks and set the previously created bus as the input for each of them. Create these tracks: Front, Side, Rear, Top Front, Top Rear
  • Insert the Slate Trigger plugin on each AUX track
  • Load the TuneDyne Immersive Samples into Slate Trigger
  • Select the correct TCI file for each AUX track.
  • AUX Front - Front TCI
  • AUX Side - Side TCI
  • AUX Rear - Rear TCI
  • AUX Top Front - Top Front TCI
  • AUX Top Rear - Top Rear TCI
  • Use the Dolby Atmos panner to place each AUX track in its corresponding Atmos position

Side Note:

All samples are sample-accurately edited and phase-aligned. Using multiple Slate Trigger instances simultaneously will not introduce any phase issues. This has been thoroughly tested and verified.

Immersive Kick Rooms

All immersive room samples available in the snare library are also provided for the kick drum, offering the same perspectives and phase-aligned workflow. To complete the sample pack, dedicated kick drum samples are available too, allowing you to combine them with the snare room samples for a highly realistic and immersive sound experience.

The kick immersive samples are used in exactly the same way as the snare immersive samples, ensuring a consistent and seamless workflow

available Immersive Rooms for:

  • TuneDyne - Three Ply 22"
  • TuneDyne - Three Ply 22" No Reso
  • TuneDyne - Three Ply 24"

The Upmix Issue

A common challenge when mixing in Dolby Atmos is that you often only receive stereo drum stems. In this situation, the entire drum stem can only be distributed across the Atmos panner, which limits depth and realism.

With modern stem-splitting tools, you can isolate the kick and snare from a stereo drum stem and use their signals as inputs for Slate Trigger with the TuneDyne Immersive Room Samples.
This allows you to add realistic, immersive room perspectives in Dolby Atmos to an otherwise stereo drum stem, creating a more natural and three-dimensional drum sound.
