Why?
I spent years creating my own snare drum samples and used most of the available libraries, but I always had one problem.
The samples that sounded great on their own didn’t fit the tuning of the recorded song. Of course, I could pitch them digitally, but the sound always degraded.
So I kept thinking - wouldn't it be great to create my own drum sample library with hand-tuned, dynamic snare samples at specific pitches, tuned in semitone steps, covering the entire tuning range of a snare drum?
And wouldn’t it be great to record these samples using the three most legendary studio snare drums, captured with multiple microphones - close mics, overheads, trash mics, room mics, and an echo chamber - and have all these angles available across eight faders in the Slate Trigger 2 plugin?
I know it's kind of nerdy, but that’s exactly what I did.

Toolhouse Studio
All samples were recorded fully analog at Toolhouse Studio in Germany. The studio is known for its excellent drum room, the large echo chamber, the great collection of gear and most of all for the great vibe.
